Gender inequality in the workplace is a major issue and effects more individuals than you would think. Gender bias in the workplace tends to create a hostile work environment for most. It is even more common now in society today and comes up in work situations very often. Typically most don’t even know what gender bias really is, which is the first problem. Gender bias is a form of discrimination and prejudice. While normally we wouldn’t want this in our regular daily lives, why would we want it to follow us to the workplace? Due to the fact that this issue pertains to a lot of Americans, this is a very important issue that needs to be read about. In big cooperation’s, it should start with the CEO of the company. It should start with the CEO due to the fact that they are the ones that typically would rather hire men over women. They also are the ones that set the whole tone for the company and enforce gender equality. This is very important to understand the importance of gender equality because of how many people go home not wanting to come back to work the next day because of the way it makes them feel.
